Bonded Fillings

Will my dental insurance pay for bonded fillings?

Most dental plans cover bonded (white) fillings to the same percentage as an amalgam restoration.  There are still a few who restrict the amount paid for the use of this material in the back teeth.  Please check with your insurance company about restrictions in your policy.

Does bonding work on children’s teeth?

Yes, bonding is just as effective for baby teeth as for adult teeth.

How strong is the material used?

The bonding material is as strong as amalgam but the advantage of a bonded filling is that silver fillings filled the space left by the decay removed while the white filling bonds to the tooth structure.

How long will my bonding last?

Bonded restorations will last as long as amalgam fillings.
